New Communication cards with phonetics and new bilingual phrases
The Centre for Cultural Diversity in Ageing has developed new communication cards with phonetics that aim to help aged care stuff communicate better with their diverse clients.
The Communication Cards depict a wide range of daily activities and situations and can be used to prompt discussion, assist with directions, clarify a client’s needs and alleviate their concerns when communicating with aged care staff.
The cards include topics such as food, personal care, religion, feelings, mobility aids, medical issues and many others.
The Centre also developed bilingual phrases which aim to provide more clarity in the daily communication between the diverse client and the aged care staff.
The cards have been translated in 69 different languages and can be found on our website: https://ccda.staging.butterfly.com.au/resources/multilingual-resources/communication-cards
