AAG Conference

This year’s Australia Association of Gerontology (AAG) Conference theme is “Coming of Age Together – New ways of acting and knowing”. It will focus on the importance of both enabling and appreciating the contributions that older people make to their families, communities and society. The Conference theme also acknowledges that opportunities for advancement are not evenly spread across the community and continues to bring to the forefront elements of our society: Older people who are poor, homeless, speak a language other than English, are LGBTI or from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds are less likely to be able to advance in older age than those who have more advantages.
