Mental health impacts of racial discrimination in Victorian CALD communities
The link between poorer physical and mental health and self-reported experiences of racism has been well documented. In 2010-2011, VicHealth conducted a survey of 1139 individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse communities in four Victorian localities examined types, settings and frequency of experiences of race-based discrimination and explored the impact of these experiences on mental health and wellbeing. This summary presents the key findings of the survey.
